Hello,
Using framemaker 8.
I've created an XML application. In the header and footer definitions of the template I use some user variables. For example:
productname [product name]
Now, I was hoping to provide in the source XML the correct value for the user variable. In the documentation I read that you can use entity declarations for this. So I've inserted in my XML:
<!ENTITY productname "Car A">
However when I import the XML, the definition of my user variable is not changed. And still the documentation states clearly:
"When importing XML, FrameMaker discards any definition of the variable in the template and creates a new one from the XML documents entity declaration."
Is the documentation wrong? Can anyone help me with this?
