I am performing testing in a Windows 7 environment with Structured FrameMaker 11. I currently work with Structured FrameMaker 8. I am encountering some issues with the FM11 error console and with losing formatting in FrameMaker files and would appreciate assistance.
I am using an internally automated process that imports an xml feed into a FrameMaker template and produces a formatted FrameMaker document. In the FrameMaker 11 error console window under XML Parser Messages (Document Instance), there is a list of errors with line numbers indicated. It is my understanding that the line numbers correspond to the line numbers of the xml file. I am viewing the xml using Notepad++ and I am not finding that the line numbers for the errors correspond to the line numbers displaying in Notepad++.
If I format the FrameMaker file and save it, then reopen it, there is a message box that reads:
Validation of XML file failed.
Continue?
When the FrameMaker file opens some of the formatting is lost, particularly for tables. I have processed some xml feeds that do not throw any errors in the error console window. If I format these files, close them, and then reopen the FrameMaker file, I am losing the formatting. I have added the xml applications that I need to the structapp file that is part of FrameMaker 11. I did this by using the Structure View to copy each xml application node from the Structapp file for FrameMaker 8, then pasting it into the Structapp file for FrameMaker 11. Is this an acceptable way to add xml applications to the FM11 structapp file? I’m told that the formatting issues that I am experiencing are tied into the structapp file. The structapp is located here:

Any advice concerning the formatting issue and the line numbering in the FM11 error will be helpful.
