We are working to switch over to a DITA set-up and changing from regular FrameMaker to Structured FrameMaker and I have a question. (Well, lots, but let's just stick with this one!)
As far as I can tell, if I reference a file in FM for content, then I can only apply an element to the whole file. Is this correct? For example, if I have an element that defines what I want bulleted points to look like, then I can't apply it to just a few lines within the referenced file. I have to have a separate file for just the bulleted points and pull it in separately from the surrounding regular paragraphs?
I can't see any way of creating one file with all of the above text and then applying the bullet element to just the desired lines. I have the same problem with, for instance, applying an Emphasis element to just one word within a paragraph. It seems very unwieldy and I'm hoping there's some way to work around that I don't know about!
We are currently using TCS 1 (with FM8), but we'll be upgrading to TCS 2 soon, if that makes any difference!
I hope this is clear, but if not, please let me know and I'll try to explain again!
