I am new working with FrameMaker10. Recently the agency I am working with win a contract for translating a large number of documents in FM10. As their designer my job is to make sure that translated documents are as close as possible with the original.
So, my job is quite easy. However, I have couple of questions:
1. In Reference Pages there are couple of elements that repeat all over the book. Like: Steps, Topics etc. Each chapter contains those elements in their Reference Pages. Is there a way to automatically change those texts in a specific language without opening each chapter go to Reference Pages and manually translate them. I have 12 chapter and 10 languages. So, basically I should manually change 120 pages.
2. Some Cross_references are repeating through a chapter (like see Chapter XX on page YY on several pages). Can I update one and then all cross-references that are the same to update automatically? Or I have to go an update them onee by one?
